Why we don't offer fully automatic posting

Published 2026-08-16

Every tool in this category competes on how little you have to do. We built the opposite, and it costs us sales.

The most common question we get in the first five minutes of a demo is some version of: can it just post by itself?

No. And not because we haven't built it — the pipeline is fully capable of running end to end without a human. We removed that path on purpose.

What goes wrong without a gate

An AI drafting social posts is right most of the time. The problem is the shape of the failures, not the rate of them.

When a language model is wrong about your business, it is not vaguely wrong. It is specifically, confidently wrong: a discount you never offered, a price from an old post, a product you stopped selling, a cheerful festival greeting published the week something went badly for your community.

Those posts do not look like errors. They look like statements from the business, because that is exactly what they are. They sit on your page under your name until someone tells you.

The asymmetry that decides it

Approving a week of posts takes about a minute. Undoing one bad public post takes a day, and sometimes you cannot undo the part that matters, because a customer already screenshotted it.

When one side of a trade costs a minute a week and the other side costs your reputation, the decision is not close. Automation is worth it right up to the point where the machine speaks for you.

What we automate instead

Nearly everything else, and aggressively:

The human is needed for one step: saying yes. Everything before and after runs without you.

The design consequence

Making approval mandatory forces a second decision: it has to be effortless, or people will resent it. A dashboard the owner logs into weekly is not effortless — it is a chore that gets skipped, and then approvals pile up and the whole system stalls.

That is why approvals happen in WhatsApp. Not because it is clever, but because it is the only place a shop owner reliably is.

It also changes what gets built. Nothing is rendered before approval — no reel cut, no carousel assembled. Partly that is cost, since video rendering is the expensive step. Mostly it is honesty: if the system built everything in advance, approval would be theatre.

What it costs us

Deals. People who want hands-off automation do not buy this, and we would rather say so on the first call than discover it in month three.

It also caps how fast a customer can scale usage. You cannot approve two hundred posts a week, which means we are not the right tool for an agency running fifty brands.

Who this is right for

Owners who care what their page says. If your business has a voice worth protecting, a minute a week is not a burden — it is the point.

If you want posting to happen with no involvement at all, we are genuinely the wrong choice, and there are tools that will sell you that. We think you will regret it, but we would rather you hear it now.

More on how the gate works: the approval workflow.
